Existential switch
There is one quote that has always stuck with me. The kind that when you hear it for the first time, the gears on your head start gaining momentum. So much in fact that you realize that there is a factory of ideals in your mind that do not get to run on a daily operation.
“We have more time than life”
It helped me realize how dictated our lives are by the regular 24 hour day to day basis. Whether it be going to school, work, take care of family. Or all at the same time. Routines are good, do not knock them. They help you practice things over and eventually you become good at them. That could be meditating some ten minutes before or after a certain task. Helping your mind set be aligned with what you are about to perform. Also prepping your body as to what you are about to expect.
If you think about how short life can be, it could end at any second. Which adds to the beauty of human interaction amongst each other. Enabling you to bookmark special or important experiences. Sometimes rushing on the way to work adds unwanted stress and could dictate how your work day will be. Setting an unpleasant mood or a great mood at that.
Ultimately you have to sit back and reevaluate what requires your utmost attention. We are always influenced by expectations and self set goals. Which in reality not always will turn out perfectly how you expect them to be. If there is one thing you must always remind yourself to do until it becomes second nature. Is to live in the moment, have and idea of the future, and learn from the past. Or you will be adding unhealthy stress to yourself. Prioritize on what will be the most beneficial memory you will want to keep for tomorrow, and do think of what amazing breakfast you could have the next morning if you so wish to have.
Thought regurgitation.
Basically a mind freight train wrecked my reality a lovely friday night. This is basically how it happened, I stayed up late until about 4am on a Friday night. Wooo what’s new for a college student! But the real reason I stayed up was because I had to study for a final exam on a Saturday morning, who by the way needs some lemon juice squeezed on their eyes. Mind you my final was at 10am, but I was sure I needed more reviewing in the morning and woke up at 8am, that is a grand total of three hours and a half blah blah blah. But as soon as I wake up a rush of words, ideas, images of lasagna and cute baby lions rushed in along with the following thought. What if the reason why we can’t make new faces in dreams is because we are not programmed to be able to do so. God(s) made us with their technology and DNA is sort of our unique program sequence data (like computer code zeros and ones). And it’s so large there will not be another same person since there are infinite combinations of four proteins and DNA strand combinations. Here is the kicker, HIM(themselves) could not make faces either, so they used technology to draw us up just like we are able to do so in photo shop, somehow we are drawn up organic machines. We display every single sign of it for example constant learning and awareness of ourselves plus imperfect that can get viruses and can sometimes be defective from the factory. Maybe when we reach a level of learning and awareness so high our creators will not be able to stop us from advancing. Like the Google algorithm in images learning what an apple looks like and colors and how it is old or ripe. Maybe we are so out of our creators hands that they have just left us to to grow and evolve. Then maybe one day come back and check on their work, every great artist goes back to see what they did or could do better. Or maybe if they are like us then show us off to another divine race by taking us, explaining alien abductions (scary stuff waking up to these crazy thoughts right? I swear i was sotally tober when I wrote this) and maybe aliens are real we are just a byproduct of engineering. That is why there are people who get sick but we are able to heal ourselves because we were engineered for it. Then cancer is just a faulty piece of code written in us. Or after so long eventually we all get cancer, unless we learn to control and repress cancer by rewriting our DNA. It is just a matter of time for us to create something like us because we are made to continue and learn and live and reproduce. But then what us the purpose of us being made. I’m done thank you for the read I love you long time. Now here is a treat for making it all the way into my mind.
Fickle Human Pondering Thoughts.
I would like to start this with a quote off a letter from the master Charles Bukowski.
“My dear,
Find what you love and let it kill you. Let it drain from you your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness. Let it kill you, and let it devour your remains.
For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it’s much better to be killed by a lover.
Falsely yours,
Henry Charles Bukowski”
There has not been a time when I read this and it knocked me onto a seat and forced me to start pondering what my short 21 years I have been in this earth for. Specially after pursuing a career that I feel I thoroughly enjoy and see myself doing for the next 7 years. After all I am a creature of change. There have been many times where I have stuck through long term commitments with a length of years helping me yet it seemed as if I always had an urge to move on, learn and discover many of the unexplored subjects of life, like underwater weaving off the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii, just kidding but not really. The main reason I believe that can help a person really grow and discover his or herself is travel both physically and mentally to another place and time. Helping you analyze your present living situation, the company you keep around you (who is a major factor in your every day habits), and really see where your life is going, or at least a very close idea. But I live for change, yet always keep a conscious awareness of my past. After all if everyone says you live, you learn, then you die must have a grain of knowledge hidden in it. Do not take take life for granted because everything could be gone in a finger snap, and smile to someone random everyday they mostly smile back, and you might have made their day I know it would make mine.
Balance does it
I remember the days when all I had to do was wake up early, go to school, play a sport, do homework and sleep. Now that’s only three hours of my everyday. It seems as if 32 hours in a day are the only way to finish every assigned task life gives you. Another thing that has changed is my ability to pick what is worth my time. Once you realize how easy projects can be split up in manageable time portions, then you have taken the first step to success. Remember it is ok to say no to outings and spend some time alone listening to some jazz or electronic music. You need time to recharge. The trick is having a schedule that isn’t a schedule. It goes like so, you wake up early, and pick any available activity like sing in the shower, read the news, text someone good morning it is that easy to switch up a routine. Else the same routine will burn you out and will dull your wits! Once that happens life gets dull and depressing. I speak from past lapses in judgement. Don’t forget to drink tea or coffee and read a random book every now and then. After all, it will make it easier to spark conversations with a) your crush b) your stickler professor c) your cat.
Appreciation
There are times when you wonder, man I’ve achieved something that matters to me and I want to share it with others. Just remember to not feel down if the person you show your work to does not react the desired way. This could be because either 1. They are not in tune with the same likes or ways of thinking and you 2. Have some other more important matters on their hands or 3. They’re just too damn cool to appreciate it. All there is to it to feel good about yourself is to reflect in what new achievement has been added to your life portfolio, and say well I’m glad I’m doing something I like in my life. There will always be someone that will secretly give you props even if they don’t admit it out loud. And for the love of Zeus always be doing something new in your life.
Surroundings awareness.
Learn by doing has been the life motto. The easiest way to achieve anything is by learning from others. Because really when you look at the roots of human advancements whether it be in technology or socioeconomics, it has been by the collective effort of more than one person.
This is where a Japanese proverb comes into mind, one mind is not more brilliant than all of our minds put together. Applying to many aspects of life, including being someone who eats healthy or someone who reads belief challenging literature. And even having the moral support from someone else makes the difference between meeting a one year deadline down to five month project completion.
Just remember that we have more time than life and don’t stress in life, instead welcome challenges with a grin because the only thing you are going to get out of it is experience, and experience gained is life well spent.
Adapting
Nowadays you see more people who seem to have a splinter in their paw like a lion and appear to have some personal issues at least twice a week. That’s because they don’t do anything about those little issues, whether it be not being able to go on vacation to the Caribbean or simply because someone said something to them and was taken to heart. Really what you have to remember is that nothing is forever, adapt to change and learn to love it, and only you are capable of making yourself happy. Like today a certain family member (very passionate about arguing aunt) was arguing about how an egg yolk was the same thing as an egg white full of fat, all because I wanted some egg whites, since I had an upset stomach yet was well enough to eat the egg whites. And to make long story short I said I know what I’m eating since I’ve done research, and I’m gonna eat them and feel ok since it is not the same to have an egg yolk in there. Simple things like being assertive and believing on yourself and accepting she’s not going to change her beliefs on nutrition in one night. I just worked around it and ate a very delicious egg white sammich. Always remember you are the one and only responsible for achieving happiness.
